You Talkin' to Me? …Well I'm the Only One Here. Jack's Story.

What do you mean I can't get pregnant? Of course I can, I can do anything! Except get pregnant. We were not very surprised with the infertility news - it had become obvious that a pregnancy was just not going to happen that easily for us.

We didn't sign up for In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) right away and by the time we did all the tests needed to be repeated. I was still infertile - my tubes had not miraculously unblocked themselves. We started the IVF process and were excited about the prospect of having a family. We waited for our turn and felt optimistic. Our cycle was scheduled early in the New Year. Lots of injections, a super healthy diet, a positive attitude, acupuncture - where are all the eggs? We had hoped for at least eight. On retrieval day, two eggs were retrieved, and only one was mature. I was devastated. What are the odds that this will work with one egg? It fertilized, divided and was transferred a couple of days later. A friend told me that every day I needed to visualize the embryo sticking inside. So I gave my uterus a daily pep talk and visualized an embryo attaching itself. Our tenacious little embryo stuck, and we were blessed with a miracle child.

Jack is truly our miracle. He is a wonderful, loving and obviously determined boy. We feel tremendously blessed to be able to share our lives with him.
