Three Times the Blessing

Like a few other parents of multiples, our adventure began after many failed attempts at becoming pregnant when we were referred to the Regional Fertility Clinic. After all the recommended procedures that were unsuccessful we prepared ourselves both mentally and physically for our last attempt to go through another procedure. We truly believe that everything happens for a reason and that the children we had planned for in the beginning came all at once through our triplet pregnancy.

We were grateful for a successful pregnancy, and were greeted by 3 healthy, beautiful girls at 35.5 weeks. Since then we have had many wonderful and memorable experiences with a few challenges in between, but feel very blessed.

One of the challenges we will always have and will resolve with lots of attention, is the fact that we have three individual personalities, all having their life's first experiences happening nearly always at the same time. For example: first birthday, Christmas, first steps, words, ride a bike, or skate and even the first day of experiencing a school setting. We wanted the girls to experience each event as if they were the only one reaching their plateau in our family not the first, second or last. We want them to relish in the moment as an individual, but have them appreciate and benefit from all the wonderful things being a triplet can present. A lot of this balance comes from understanding their individual personality and requirements.

Even after 5 years we are still in disbelief when we pause for a moment to think about the fact that we are parenting triplet girls. As any parent looks to toward their family's future, we are excited to experience and treasure each and every moment to it's fullest.
